A Celebration of the Gift of Life
After a 17 year struggle with Congestive Heart Failure, our pastor, Jim Street, underwent a successful heart transplant at Emory University Hospital on April 12th. As a result, he has been unable to preach since late February. On this day, August 11th, we will be celebrating his return to preaching. He will be sharing his testimony with regard to his transplant experience, one that he counts as a 'blessed ordeal' and 'one of the most spiritually transformative experiences of (his) life.'
However, this celebration will not only be a celebration of his return to preaching and teaching (he's been at it for 46 years!), it will also be a celebration of the gift of life that comes through organ donation. Representatives from LifeLink of Georgia will be on hand to answer questions and provide information on that most important topic.
Opportunities to register as an organ donor will be available as well.
"My vision for this day is not only to share my testimony with respect to my transplant experience but also to honor my donor and encourage those who are not registered to sign up to be an organ donor. However, above ALL things, this event is about lifting up the name of Jesus and to glorify God whose mighty hand has been all over the past several months of my life." ~ Dr. Jim Street
